Cut out paintings, 2024 : Plywood hand cut into individual pieces, painted, and reassembled like a mosaic or a puzzle (See printmaking page for the ‘monoprint painting’ versions of these works, made using the cutout pieces to print from before reassembling them)

2024 – Oil paintings from my ongoing series of zoo enclosures, and series of swimming pools

Operating Theatres, 2024
Oil paint on canvas, and painted wooden mosaics, as part of a series of works made after two days of drawing in situ during three surgical operations. See collage page for the other major work from this series and see drawing page for the observational studies made from life.

2023
Folded Kitchen – a flat folding screen of a non-dimensional domestic space, using my cutout painted wooden mosaic technique on a larger scale.

2022
Oil paintings on wood, as part of my ongoing series of non-dimensional interiors. These three are focusing on particular spaces frequented by the visual artist : the studio, the life drawing class, the gallery

Cut out paintings, 2022 – Wooden board cut into individual pieces, painted, and reassembled like a mosaic or a puzzle. An evolution of the ideas explored in my collage work, when looking for ways to make larger, sturdier pieces than with paper cutouts. Mostly scenes from my sketchbook of shared moments between people, as well as a couple of interior spaces, a self portrait drawing, and a creased Matisse.
